Terms of Service
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Which version applies to you
This version applies from October 5, 2026 to accounts created on or after that date, and to anyone using Tapeline without an account.
If your account was created before October 5, 2026, the previous version applies to you until we email you about the change, as clause 11 says. It differs from this one only in clauses 4(a) and 10, and both are kept below under Previous version.
1. Acceptance
By accessing Tapeline you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service description
Tapeline is a subscription-based quantitative market research tool. See the Risk Disclosure for a description of what Tapeline is and is not.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of forming a binding contract. You must not be subject to securities sanctions or in a jurisdiction where Tapeline's services are prohibited.
4. Acceptable use
You may not: (a) resell or bulk-redistribute Tapeline data, or use it to build a competing dataset; (b) scrape, reverse-engineer, or access the service through unauthorized means; (c) share your account credentials; (d) use the service to violate any law or third-party rights.
You may place our free score widget on any website, unchanged and with its link back to Tapeline. You may use the Tapeline API and MCP server under the limits of your plan, for your own analysis. Prices stay delayed about 15 minutes, and none of this is advice.
5. Subscription and payment
Paid plans auto-renew until cancelled. Cancel online any time from the billing page (Billing → Cancel subscription → Just cancel my subscription) or from the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Within 30 days of a monthly plan's first charge, email support@tapeline.io for a full refund, no questions asked. Annual plans receive a prorated refund within 30 days (one month at the monthly rate is retained). Full details in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Intellectual property
Tapeline owns or licenses all content, code, and trademarks in the service. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the service for personal research purposes while your subscription is active.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your subscription ends and data is handled per the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Tapeline is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tapeline shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms removes rights the law of your own country gives you that cannot be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms with at least 30 days' notice emailed to your registered address. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Previous version
For accounts created before October 5, 2026, until we email you about the change under clause 11, clauses 4(a) and 10 read as follows. Everything else is the same as above.
4(a): You may not redistribute, republish, or resell Tapeline data.
10. Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction of incorporation (to be specified on launch).
